Ride and Stride: A Day to Support Our Churches

Ride and Stride takes place on the second Saturday in September and is one of the most important annual fundraising events for our churches.

The idea is simple: participants can walk, cycle, or ride to as many churches as they wish during the day. Whether you visit just a few local churches or take on a bigger challenge, every mile travelled helps support these wonderful historic buildings.

When taking part, you can nominate the church you would like to support — for example, St John’s. You can then ask friends, family and supporters to sponsor you, either with a set donation or by pledging an amount for each church you visit.

What makes Ride and Stride especially worthwhile is that all the money raised is shared equally between your nominated church and the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust. This means that every donation not only supports your own church but also helps protect and preserve historic churches across Suffolk for future generations.

Ride and Stride is a wonderful opportunity to get out into the fresh air, explore some of Suffolk’s beautiful churches and enjoy a day of exercise and discovery — all while raising much-needed funds for a very important cause.

We hope as many people as possible will take part this year. Whether you walk, cycle, ride, sponsor someone, or simply help spread the word, your support can make a real difference.

So, why not join us on the second Saturday in September and help support St John’s and Suffolk’s wonderful historic churches?
